The Central Texas Commercial Association of Real Estate Professionals is offering individuals the opportunity to sign up and serve on various CTCAR Committees.   Committee positions are available to current CTCAR affiliates and new CTCAR members alike.

CTCAR COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS

(*STANDING COMMITTEES)

CTCAR Partners*

  • Committee oversees the task of raising funds to support CTCAR functions
  • Contact existing partners to encourage them to renew for next year
  • Contact new alliances that can benefit from advertising with CTCAR’s members
  • Review and enhance the current partner benefit package as needed
  • Monitor the program during the year to make sure partners receive their benefits promised
  • Forming alliances with Austin companies to support the organizations financials goals

Governmental Affairs/TREPAC*

  • Assist with developing our legislative agenda and addressing issues affecting property rights & commercial real estate
  • Educate and inform REALTOR member on key legislative issues with calls to action and newsletter articles, etc
  • Promote TREPAC fundraising & promotion to reach yearly goal (member donations, dues renewals, silent auctions, special events, etc)

Programs/Luncheons*

  • Keep in touch with Austin’s Hot Topic issues by scheduling informative topics & speakers for our luncheon programs, 5 per year
  • Coordinate speaker’s information such as introduction, presentation materials, onsite hospitality, etc.
  • Assist with planning the Power Luncheon held annually as joint event with other commercial real estate organizations
  • The goals of this committee is to increase overall attendance meet the needs of the membership

Education*

  • Assist with coordinating topics & instructors for continuing education courses
  • Survey membership to determine the best training topics for commercial real estate professionals
  • Held monthly when possible
  • Assist with onsite logistics such as registration, instructor introductions, refreshments, sponsor coordination and administrative paperwork.
  • Work with TAR to add courses to their website and promote by email as needed.

Membership*

  • All about membership benefits, growth, retention and exposure
  • Resource for ideas on recruiting new members & member retention
  • Identify brokerage houses that can benefit from REALTOR membership
  • Understand the broker / agent relationship necessary to become a REALTOR member
  • Starting September 1st the TAR forms will be available to individuals who do not qualify for REALTOR status
  • Survey membership to determine the benefits most important to them
  • Assist with registration at the luncheon programs held 5 times a year

Special Events

  • Assist with planning networking events including boat cruise, socials & holiday party
  • Assist with registration, set up and onsite logistics of special events as noted above
  • Assist with consumer outreach activities so that we can meet our Core Standard as mandated by NAR (National Association of Realtors)
  • Includes working with charities for fundraisers and other activities

Outlying Area

  • Coordinate events for promoting commercial real estate in regional outlying areas
  • Schedule instructors for continuing education
  • Coordinate property information exchange including moderator
  • Coordinate onsite logistics such as registration, refreshments, audio visual, etc
  • Assist with securing exhibit tables as needed for vendor services

Finance

  • Assist with monitoring finances related to association business
  • Assist with developing budgets with positive financial impact
  • Review variances and new requests for budget items as needed

Communications

  • Submit articles of interest to be included in monthly newsletter
  • Create press releases for board changes, events, education & advocacy efforts
  • Develop relationships with local media to gain exposure for organization and members
  • Presentations at local organizations to promote the REALTOR brand
  • Social Media

Property Info Exchange

  • Assist with finding speakers & topics for the breakfast meetings held monthly
  • Conduct property information exchange during program
  • Track deals being done as a result of the meetings
